Micro Worlds

In this photo assignment, we used photographed backgrounds and put toy figures in front of them. We tried to use appropriate characters for each background, and to match the expression of their faces to what emotion and scene we were trying to convey.

  3. Great photos!! I really like how you've incorporated a naturalistic theme in your photos, relating them all together into somewhat of a story. I especially like your third photo. Its very unique and I really like the background with leaves.

  4. You really created awesome moments in these pictures. I particularly like number 3 and when I first saw it was convinced you used a real animal. Nice use of background.

  6. This is a great draft and I think you do a great job connecting the characters (mainly their facial expressions) with a background that tells some kind of story. Instead of just positioning the character with a background, you show interactions between the two which is very unique and challenging. Great Job!

  7. you did a really great job integrating the miniatures into their respective worlds, really having them interact with the simulated environment. i think the second ones my favorite- the mans corny expression combined with the image of the insects brings to mind old corny horror movies and their use of rear screen projection

  9. i love your last two pictures. The one with the squirrel is my favorite and i actually wondered if it was real or not. The backgrounds you chose were perfect for each scene and helped set them up nicely. i think the one with the man and worms could have possibly been stronger in black and white.

  10. The squirrel photo is my favorite as well, and it actually looks like you found a squirrel and put the toy next to it! It also portrays a commentary on the stupidity of tourists. Great work.
